Category: rokinon 85mm 1.4 sony

Achieving a resolving power of 50 line pairs/mm is no easy feat, but that is the baseline for Sony's G Master lens design. Unprecedented resolution and demanding parameters yield outstanding reproduction of the most detailed subjects and scenes with superior contrast throughout every frame, making G Master resolution the highest in its class.

Constructed with three aspherical elements, including a newly developed XA (extreme aspherical) lens element with better than 0.01-micron surface precision, this lens reduces aberration and delivers the ultimate resolution across the entire zoom and aperture range, as well as from corner to corner of all image files. This unprecedented surface precision was previously unattainable.

Maintaining a constant F1.4 maximum aperture preserves exposure and depth of field regardless of the focal range. When adjusting the aperture to defocus the background, the areas outside the focal plane appear pleasantly blurred, creating a captivating "bokeh" effect. This is further enhanced by the use of 11 circular aperture blades, a first for a lens, along with precise spherical aberration adjustment for each individual unit. The result is an enchantingly soft-edged bokeh, a hallmark of the Sony G Master series.

Designed for the E-mount and full-frame format, this 85mm lens has a minimum focus distance of 2.79 ft (AF) or 2.62 ft (MF), with a maximum magnification ratio of 0.13x. The wide aperture range of f/1.4 to f/16 is complemented by a 67mm filter diameter.

Incorporating one XA element and three ED elements, along with Nano AR Coating, this lens utilizes a Linear SSM focus system. Weighing 820g, it features a dust and moisture resistant design. The angle of view is 29° (35mm) or 19°2' (APS-C).
